So, the ladies are picking up the egg pace after a long winters rest. As you know, we don’t artificially light our birds so they are completely dependent on the seasons for their cues to lay. The days are now long enough for them to kick it in gear. If you would like some fresh eggs shoot an email to members@greatamercianegg.com and we’ll make arrangements. This years flock hasn’t started laying yet; however, we are really hoping that they will start by the time the Bend Farmers Market opens May 2nd. Yes, May 2nd! The downtown market is going to start a month earlier this year. So come downtown and start shopping well before the tourist season hits.
In other news, broiler chicks have arrived and are growing well. We are hoping that our first butcher day will be May 6th (if all goes well). There will be more news on this though the email list. So sign up HERE!
